Nottingham, Nottingham, United Kingdom Inspired Villages Full time

Our purpose drives us to build real communities that enhance the lives of our residents every day. We are seeking a
Recruitment & Development Manager
to join our expanding
HR
team.

The Recruitment & Development Manager plays a central role in delivering Inspired Villages' People Strategy by developing, delivering, and maintaining people practices that attract, engage, and grow exceptional talent. This role leads the creation and ongoing evolution of our employer value proposition (EVP), as well as onboarding and induction experiences, career pathways, and learning frameworks. It also shapes our approach to organisational design, employee engagement, and equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). With a strong focus on creating a consistent and inspiring colleague experience, this role ensures our people practices are future-ready, inclusive, and aligned with our values.

After seven years of phenomenal growth and numerous awards, we are backed by a joint venture partnership between Legal & General PLC and NatWest Group Pension Trustee Limited. We are on course to significantly transform the later living experience in the UK, with a commitment to expand our portfolio to 34 retirement villages, which will equate to around 5,000 age-appropriate homes for retirees.

If you're looking for a career which means more and gives you more, personally and professionally, there's a place for you here at Inspired Villages.

The Role
Organisational & Job Design

  • Lead the design and implementation of organisational development (OD) frameworks that support business growth and transformation.

  • Support the development of a competency-based approach to job architecture, including technical and behavioural competencies.

Attract, Select, Onboard & Induct

  • Oversee the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, ensuring a consistent and values-led approach to attracting and selecting talent.
  • Design and deliver a compelling onboarding and induction experience that reflects our EVP, tone of voice, and culture.
  • Continuously improve recruitment and onboarding processes to enhance candidate and new starter experience.

Employer Brand, EVP & Onboarding

  • Lead the design and delivery of Inspired Villages' EVP, ensuring it is authentic, differentiated, and aligned with our People Strategy.
  • Develop and manage employer branding initiatives across digital, social, and in-person channels.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and positioning in the talent market.
  • Develop, monitor, and seek sign-off for induction and probation templates, ensuring cultural elements are defined centrally and technical elements are completed by hiring managers.

Career Pathways & Development

  • Design, deliver and maintain career pathways and development journeys across all functions and levels.
  • Lead the development of training needs analysis to identify capability gaps and inform training delivery.
  • Lead training needs analysis and the creation of training frameworks that support capability building, compliance, and leadership development.
  • Embed learning and development into the employee lifecycle, supporting succession planning and internal mobility.

Competency & Appraisal Frameworks

  • Develop and maintain technical and behavioural competency frameworks to underpin recruitment, development, and performance.
  • Design and implement an appraisal framework, ensuring consistency and clarity across the business.
  • Support managers in embedding the framework into regular performance conversations and development planning.

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)

  • Lead the development and maintenance of Inspired Villages' EDI framework and strategy.
  • Design inclusive practices and initiatives that foster belonging, equity, and representation across the colleague lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed EDI principles into recruitment, onboarding, career development, and policy design.
  • Monitor EDI trends and provide insight to support continuous improvement and alignment with our values.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Support the HR Director in delivering the People Strategy and driving continuous improvement across the People Team.
  • Collaborate with internal customers and ecosystem peers across the business to ensure people initiatives are aligned, impactful, and well-integrated.
  • Line manage the relevant HR Adviser, providing coaching, support, and development opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted partner to business leaders, providing insight and challenge to support people-related decision-making.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and represent the People Team in business-wide initiatives.

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a multi-site or fast-growing organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of organisational design, talent development, and employee engagement.
  • Experience designing and delivering EVP, onboarding, and employer branding strategies.
