Job Summary

Total Gas & Heating Solutions is expanding and we are excited to be looking for an experienced Level 3 and Gas Safe Registered Engineer to join our growing team on an employed, full time basis.

At Total Gas, we are a trusted Dorset based, Plumbing and Heating company known for delivering high-quality, reliable services to residential and commercial clients. We pride ourselves on our professionalism, clear communications and a customer-first approach.

This role is mobile in nature, meaning that your work will be conducted on-site at residential and commercial properties; travel between jobs is a core part of the role. Duties

  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems including pipework, fixtures, and appliances according to specifications.
  • Carry out installation, maintenance and repair of domestic boilers, heating systems, and general plumbing
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to the customer
  • Perform annual services and landlord safety checks (CP12s)
  • Conduct compliance checks and routine inspections (e.g., leak detection, pressure testing)
  • Complete service reports, job sheets, and relevant documentation accurately
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding work carried out and any follow-up recommendations
  • Lift heavy materials and equipment as required during installations or repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Requirements

  • Level 3 NVQ Qualified Plumber with a minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience, ideally coupled with being Gas Safe Registered (this is not essential). Certification checks will be carried out as part of the employment process.
  • To own your own tools.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot plumbing issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating material requirements.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as necessary for installations.
  • Full UK Drivers License is essential to the role – (clean and minor points considered).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment
