Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our bank who is committed to delivering the highest quality care to our patients. 

As a key member of the team, you will support the department in the provision of pharmacy services including ordering, stock control and preparation of drugs and medicines.

A Bank contract at Spire Healthcare is a flexible employment agreement where you are not committed to a set number of hours per week. Instead, you work on an ad-hoc basis, filling in shifts that we have available in our hospital. A Bank contract is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility, as it allows you to choose shifts that fit your availability, leaving you with a greater work-life balance. Bank contracts are also a fantastic way to secure additional income alongside other contracted work.

Duties and responsibilities:

To provide an exemplary specialist technical service to support the pharmacy department and other areas of the hospital that stock medicines, working within own level of competence and in accordance with current legislation, accepted professional and ethical standards and Spire Healthcare policies and procedures.

  • Monitor stock levels within the Pharmacy department to maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Assist with the procurement of pharmaceutical stock for the pharmacy and other departments using appropriate electronic systems
  • Participate in pharmacy and departmental stock takes
  • Provide general administrative support to the department
  • Contribute to the safe and effective use of medicines, ensuring cost efficiency.

Who we're looking for

  • Have an NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy service or equivalent is required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good team player
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • It would also be desirable for the applicant to have experience working in a hospital environment however community experience is considered
  • We have shifts available Monday - Friday 8-6 & Saturday 8-4
