Role: Catering Assistant
Department: Estates & Facilities Management
Location: Robert Dyson House, Rotherham
Salary: £23,286 - £23,748 (pro rata)
Hours: 18.5
Contract Type: Permanent
We are looking for a Catering Assistant to work in our busy Catering Department. In this role you will work as part of a dedicated Catering Team assisting in all areas of the Catering Department including basic food preparation, cleaning associated equipment and areas and completing basic paperwork.
You will have some previous catering experience and be able to demonstrate good communication and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent levels of customer service at all times.
- Ensure the unit maintains the highest possible standards of food hygiene and complies with all relevant legislation.
- Undertake the preparation and service of foodstuff as directed by line manager.
- Place and receipt of orders for all foodstuffs required for normal service as and when required or in the Catering Manager's absence.
- Check foodstuffs received for quality and quantity.
- Ensure compliance with the Force's policies and procedures (HACCP).
- Take monies from customers, using a cash register and perform correct cash-control within standard financial regulations as applicable.
- Ensure cleaning functions are carried out promptly and effectively.
- Complete basic paperwork.

Eligibility
Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 3 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
