Job Summary
Giles Cleaning Services is an experienced and trusted cleaning company supporting nurseries, offices and commercial sites across the West Midlands. We are looking for a reliable Cleaning Contractor to maintain high standards at a nursery site in Solihull, with potential for additional work at other client locations.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, is dependable, and enjoys working independently. Hours are 2 per day, Monday to Friday (10 hours per week). This is a self-employed contractor position, with the possibility of moving onto payroll as the company expands.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise nursery rooms, toilets, kitchens and communal areas
- Sweep, mop and vacuum floors to a high standard
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces and equipment
- Empty bins and dispose of waste safely
- Follow strict hygiene and infection-control procedures suitable for childcare and commercial environments
- Report stock shortages or issues promptly
- Maintain professional communication with Giles Cleaning Services and site staff
- Ensure the site is left clean, safe and ready for the next day
Qualifications
- Prior cleaning experience required (nursery/school/office experience preferred)
- Must be reliable, punctual and trustworthy
- Able to operate as a self-employed contractor and provide invoices
- DBS check required (or willingness to obtain one)
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Right to work in the UK
- Good communication and a positive attitude
Pay & Hours
- £12.50–£14.00 per hour (contractor rate, depending on experience)
- 10 hours per week (2 hours per day, Monday to Friday)
- Potential for extra work with other clients
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Expected hours: 10 per week
