Ofgem is looking for a Head of Public Affairs to join us and direct our strategic engagement with political stakeholders, shaping how our voice is heard across Westminster and the Devolved Nations.

We're offering a permanent role where you'll drive a high-performing, purpose-driven team delivering impactful public affairs work on some of the biggest energy challenges of our time, from energy affordability to net zero transition. This is a rare opportunity to shape the organisation's external profile, working at the intersection of policy, politics and regulation.
You'll play a pivotal role in protecting Ofgem's reputation and influence in a fast-moving external environment. Working directly with our CEO, Chair and senior leaders, you'll help shape messaging and build strong relationships with parliamentarians and government stakeholders across the UK.

Person specificationEssential Criteria:
- Experience of expertise/capability in Public Affairs, as demonstrated by proven record of high performance and substantial achievements in past positions. (LEAD)
- Experience of and a proven aptitude for leadership, e.g. through formal or informal management of others. (LEAD)
- Detailed understanding of Westminster, devolved governments, and the UK political process.
- Effective networker and influencer with a strong track record of influencing change.
- Proven success in developing communications strategies to drive organisational objectives and priorities.
- A proven track record of being a self-starter with balanced decisions making ability. The ability to exercise good judgement on wider implications of the external environment and how this links to Ofgem's objectives. Providing clear, balanced advice and support to Ofgem's senior leadership.
