Our supportive and progressive school in Havering is looking for a motivated Music Teacher who is keen to develop their leadership skills within a thriving department and enhance the musical opportunities for our students. This role offers the exciting prospect of a TLR for the right candidate, allowing you to contribute to the strategic direction of the Music department and the school's musical vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Music lessons across Key Stages 3-4 (and potentially KS5).
  • Encourage students to become confident and independent musicians and performers.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and contribute to the school's musical life.
  • Contribute to the planning and assessment of the Music curriculum and extracurricular musical activities.
  • TLR opportunities are available for candidates with the skills and ambition to lead in areas such as curriculum innovation in Music, developing assessment strategies, or leading and organizing school musical performances.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Music or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Music at secondary level (ECTs encouraged to apply).
  • Strong musical skills, including performance experience and theoretical understanding.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to inspire and lead musical endeavors.
  • Demonstrated interest and potential in taking on leadership responsibilities within the Music department and school music (for TLR consideration).
