Hughes Alexander is expanding. Following our success across the North East and with an established portfolio of 100+ managed tenants, we are now opening our first physical North East branch in South Shields — with Darlington, Sunderland, or Newcastle planned to follow.

We are seeking an experienced Property Manager / Estate Agency Professional to lead our North East expansion. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a new branch opening, shape the regional structure, and play a key role in growing our managed portfolio to 500+ tenants within 24 months.

The Role

As our Regional Property Manager & Branch Launch Lead, you will:

  • Oversee the opening and setup of our new South Shields branch, ensuring smooth launch and ongoing operational excellence.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations, compliance, and client service of the South Shields office.
  • Take responsibility for regional back-office administration, systems, and processes as we scale.
  • Drive business growth, implementing strategies to expand our portfolio and market presence.
  • Provide hands-on property management across our South Shields properties while building a local team.
  • Play a key leadership role as we open further branches across the North East.

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Proven experience in estate agency or property management at branch manager or regional level.
  • Strong understanding of lettings legislation, compliance, and property operations.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to build and develop a team.
  • A commercial mindset, capable of driving growth and improving operational efficiency.
  • Confidence to manage multiple responsibilities while shaping the future of the region.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and commitment to excellent customer service.
