Toddlers Nursery UK is a newly Ofsted-registered early years setting, committed to providing a warm, safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 9 months to 6 years. We aspire to become an Outstanding nursery as per Ofsted standards and are looking for a passionate, driven and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our team on this exciting journey.
Role Purpose
The Nursery Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring exceptional quality of care and education, compliance with Ofsted and EYFS requirements, safeguarding, staff leadership, and a positive parent experience. This role is both operational and leadership-focused, requiring someone who is proactive, organised, and committed to continuous improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Management
- Lead, motivate and support a team of practitioners, fostering a culture of excellence, positivity, and accountability.
- Conduct staff supervision, appraisals, training and professional development.
- Ensure staffing ratios are always met, and assist with rota planning and recruitment.
Compliance, Safety & Regulation
- Maintain full compliance with Ofsted, EYFS (2024 Framework), safeguarding, Health & Safety, and all legislative requirements.
- Maintain accurate records including children's files, accident forms, risk assessments, attendance registers, and safeguarding logs.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and reviewed regularly.
Quality of Education & Learning
- Oversee the planning and delivery of the curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, inclusive and tailored to individual learning needs.
- Monitor and track children's progress, ensuring high-quality observations and assessments.
- Ensure the learning environment is purposeful, inspiring, organised and reflects children's interests.
Parent & Community Partnership
- Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers, ensuring open communication and a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage enquiries, nursery tours, admissions, and ensure excellent customer service.
- Promote the nursery within the local community to support enrolments and reputation.
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Manage nursery budgets, invoicing, purchasing and cost control.
- Maintain accurate records for funded places (including 15/30 hours funding).
- Ensure enrolment targets are achieved and occupancy levels are maximised.
RequirementsEssential Qualifications & Experience
- Level 3, Level 5 or Level 6 in Early Years Childcare / Leadership (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years of managerial or deputy manager experience in an early years setting.
- Strong understanding of EYFS, Ofsted inspections, safeguarding, and health & safety.
