Join us as a Strategy & Operations Manager - Data
Want to do work that really matters? At Checkatrade, we're building the UK's go-to home improvement marketplace. Every day, we help millions of homeowners find the
right
tradesperson for the job, fast, fair, and without the faff.
We're looking for a sharp, strategic thinker who turns data into direction. As our next Strategy & Operations Manager - Data, you'll sit at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and innovation. You'll shape how we measure success, uncover opportunities for growth, and embed AI into the way our teams operate, from smarter insights to automated decision-making.
You'll be the go-to person for transforming data into action: spotting what matters, simplifying the complex, and helping teams make better decisions faster. And you'll champion the adoption of AI tools and techniques across the team, leading by example in how data and automation drive scale.
Forget long lists, here's what you'll actually spend your time on:
- Deliver high-impact analytics that inform strategy and drive measurable business results.
- Lead analytics to improve forecasting, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Translate complex data into clear, strategic insights that influence product, marketing, and sales decisions.
- Build scalable, self-serve analytics that empower teams to access insights instantly.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify opportunities where data and AI can create real competitive advantage.
- Champion AI adoption across the team; testing, implementing, and sharing new ways to work smarter.
It's not about ticking every box. It's about turning up curious, ready to crack on. You'll do well here if you bring:
- Relevant Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related discipline.
- Background: Extensive experience in consulting, strategy, business operations, or fast-paced scale-up environments.
Data: Extensive experience in analytics, data science, or a related field, with a proven track record of solving complex business problems through data-driven insights. Data skills should include:
Expert in SQL and data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Advanced modelling and scenario analysis in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Able to query large datasets efficiently.
- Build automated dashboards that simplify complex data and tell compelling stories.
Experience with Python, AI tools, and workflow design is a plus.
Strategic thinking: Ability to define problems, structure workstreams, and support long-term business goals through focused operational execution.
- Strong analytical mindset: Skilled at breaking down data, spotting trends, and delivering insight-driven recommendations.
- Executional excellence: Delivers high-quality work efficiently and with impact.
We believe great work deserves great rewards. Here's just a taste:
- Excellent salary + annual bonus scheme
- Car allowance
- Private medical cover
- Health, well-being and learning support
- Gym membership, Smart Tech Scheme and Cycle Scheme
- Birthday/Special day leave
- Buy & sell holiday scheme
- 1 week's paid charity leave
- …and much more
How we'll get to know each other:
- Screening call with one of our Talent Acquisition Partners
- 1st stage interview with our the Hiring Manager
- 2nd stage panel interview and case study with key business stakeholders across Product, Marketing and Operations
If you require any reasonable adjustments during our interview process, please discuss them with your Talent Acquisition Partner.
If this sounds like the place where you can do your best work, we'd love to hear from you, even if you don't tick every box
