Job Purpose
To ensure the smooth and secure running of the hotel during the night, maintaining high standards of guest service, safety, and presentation. The Night Worker provides a professional front-of-house service, supports overnight operations, and prepares the property for the next day's business.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Welcome late arrivals and assist with check-in/check-out procedures.
- Handle guest enquiries professionally and efficiently, in person and by phone.
- Ensure guests enjoy a restful stay by maintaining a quiet, safe, and secure environment.
Security & Safety
- Conduct regular security and fire safety checks throughout the building.
- Monitor CCTV and ensure all external doors and access points are secure.
- Respond promptly to any emergencies, alarms, or incidents.
- Maintain accurate night reports and incident logs.
- Either have or be willing to have a DBS check
Hotel Operations
- Prepare end-of-day financial reports and reconcile cash and card payments.
- Complete night audit tasks (if applicable) and ensure systems are updated.
- Support housekeeping and maintenance teams.
Presentation & Standards
- Maintain cleanliness of reception, lobby, and public areas.
- Report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in hospitality, security, or customer service preferred.
- Confident using hotel systems (Guestline, Rezlynx).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently.
- Knowledge of basic health & safety and fire procedures.

- Friendly, professional, and guest-focused.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation.
- Flexible and willing to assist across departments.
