Works closely with: VP Product, VP Global Indices and Cards, VP Commercial & Head of Finance
Department size: c. 40, a mix between UK-based and offshore (within Europe)
We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking VP Technology to lead at the intersection of data, AI and scalable systems. This is a critical leadership role with both strategic and operational scope, with a company-wide impact and the opportunity to shape the next phase of our technology evolution.
As a member of the senior leadership team, you will partner closely with Product, Finance, Commercial and other leaders in the business, ensuring technology is at the heart of every growth decision.
The successful candidate will lead the transformation of our agile, high-performing business into a world-class data-as-a-product organisation. This is a rare opportunity to drive meaningful impact, build for scale and lead innovation at the core of our long-term growth strategy.
About the role:As VP of Technology, you'll be shaping the future of technology at FXC Intelligence, responsible for people leadership, engineering culture, technical architecture and delivery. You'll lead and inspire a talented and highly engaged team through a transformative journey, scaling systems, embedding AI and modernising the stack, while keeping quality and agility at the forefront.
What you'll be doing:Defining and owning the technology strategy across products and internal systems, ensuring it drives business growth
Building a high-performance culture within our capable engineering team, inspiring them to deliver excellence
Leading architectural decisions across our data-centric stack, setting the standards for scalability, resilience and innovation
Implementing AI where it adds true value, improving outcomes and productionalising this to give us a competitive edge
Leading and empowering both onshore and offshore teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and engagement
Partnering closely with senior leadership to align tech vision with business strategy
Balancing innovation with pragmatism, scaling capability sustainably rather than simply increasing headcount
You're a strong fit if you have:Proven delivery in start-up or scale-up environments- experience leading complex technology outcomes, particularly in data-centric businesses where data is the product, and delivering products to enterprise-grade corporate customers.
Deep technical expertise with modern data, cloud and AI – an engineering background that enables you to lead with technical credibility, having experience with data engineering, expertise with ClickHouse or similar high-performance data platforms, AWS and cloud-native architectures, DevOps and practical experience in productionising AI – embedding it into workflows in a resource-efficient, value-driven way.
Leadership that inspires trust and performance- a proven track of hiring and managing high-performing onshore and offshore engineering teams, whilst fostering a culture of accountability, excellence and continuous improvement
Executive presence under pressure- A calm, decisive presence in high-stakes production scenarios, with the ability to be reliable, responsive and accountable.
A people-first, collaborative mindset- a leadership approach rooted in empathy, integrity and inclusion, working seamlessly with cross-functional stakeholders and communicating across the business with a dependable, flexible approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Nice to have:Experience in the fintech, B2B enterprise SaaS or payments, or other complex, data-intensive industries
Expertise with ClickHouse or similar high-performance data platforms
