Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in in their own home and the community.
We are a small, family-run organisation who have cared for two young ladies since childhood. It is an exciting time to join Griffin Care due to new management and possible CPD.
We require a support worker to cover on a temporary basis for a 2 bed supported living home for two ladies with learning disabilities and additional needs. We are looking for someone who is:
· Proactive
· Active
· Focused on meeting the needs of the individual
· The two ladies like to be active, so a focus on in house activity as well as access in the community
· Ideally a driver
This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in our care, ensuring their dignity and well-being at all times.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, fostering a positive environment.
- Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support individual needs.
- Drive individuals to appointments or social activities as required.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
- Maintain accurate records of individual's progress and any changes in their condition.
Experience
- Previous experience in a support worker role or similar position is essential.
- Knowledge of medication administration practices is advantageous.
- A caring attitude with the ability to handle challenging situations with patience and empathy is crucial.
- Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
