We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Scrub Nurse to join team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical care, with experience in plastic surgery considered an advantage, though not essential. You will play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care before, during, and after surgical procedures

Duties:

  • Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
  • Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
  • Scrub in and assist the surgical team throughout procedures
  • Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection control practices at all times
  • Practice sterilisation and understand the principles of decontamination and disinfection
  • Confidently handle and pass surgical instruments to the surgeon in a safe, timely, and precise manner
  • Be fully familiar with surgical trays, instruments, sutures, and equipment required for various procedures
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptly to changes during surgery
  • Ensure all counts (instruments, swabs, sharps) are correct and documented
  • Monitor the surgical environment to ensure patient and team safety
  • Assist with positioning of the patient and application of sterile drapes
  • Accurately document intraoperative care and support with post-operative patient care as required
  • Work collaboratively with the wider theatre team including surgeons, anaesthetists, and recovery staff

Experience:

  • Registered Nurse qualification with valid NMC registration
  • Proven experience working in an Operating Room setting
  • In-depth knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures
  • Strong patient care skills with attention to detail and compassion
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Work well in a team

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

Pay: £36,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
