Overview

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running all whilst smiling and fitting into our 'Home of Calm and Common sense'. Matix Accounts provides bookkeeping, credit control, management accounts and payroll to a variety of exciting businesses, we operate as a white labelled highly professional outsourced finance department for them. Our leadership encourage development and a real sense of fun and team spirit in the office. This role is office based.

Are you an management accountant or very experienced senior bookkeeper who has a real attention to detail and can spot errors in ledgers and correct them? Do you have the desire to see completely accurate and balanced records? Can you produce monthly reporting to be presented at Board level to tight reporting deadlines?

Have you worked with any of the many new cloud software's in the accounting industry - do you enjoy an 'app stack'? Do you know the phrase 'app stack'? it's ok if you don't so long as you are eager to find out more and enjoy software and how these interlink. We are 'digital dynamos' at Matix and using the latest software is a very important part of how we work.

Whilst experience is important we would particularly welcome qualifications in CIMA, AAT L4 or ICB, MICB.

Duties

  • Maintain accurate accounting records in accounting software - working alongside fellow management accountants, bookkeepers and administrators
  • Manage accounts payable - making clients aware of what needs paying and when
  • Manage sales and accounts receivable - we do have a dedicated credit controller and have an excellent reputation for reducing debtor days
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts with a thorough month end process which will include management reporting for clients Board of Directors
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights into financial performance
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices within the industry plus the latest in software options

Skills

  • Proficient and enthusiastic in accounting software & Microsoft packages
  • Strong knowledge of accounting
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
