Carbon Finance Solutions Lead

• CUR8 is looking for a commercially savvy and driven Carbon Finance Solutions Lead to scale our first-of-a-kind offtake financing product to turbocharge the world's most ambitious carbon removal companies.
• Ideal candidates have spent 5+ years commercialising financial products in startups; in growth stage VC; or banking — grounded in capital markets fundamentals, and armed with strong deal structuring and relationship building skills.
• You'll report to our Carbon Finance Director, and own deal origination, development, and stakeholder success as a true force multiplier.
• The role is a hybrid role, working from home but also from our Old Street office.

The science is clear: humanity must remove CO₂ from the atmosphere at unprecedented scale, and fast. Even if we eliminate all emissions, the world still needs to remove 5–10 gigatonnes of carbon annually by 2050—there's simply no Net Zero without removals.

Our offtake financing product provides project developers with upfront capital, accelerating the buildout of high-quality carbon removal around the world. We're a proven force in carbon finance — having made headlines with our first-of-a-kind (FOAK) carbon removal offtake financing deal alongside Standard Chartered and British Airways, setting a new standard for innovation, rigour, and credibility in global carbon markets. Now we're growing this team to keep up with our demand.

Between us, we've built, scaled, and sold successful tech businesses, advised governments on net zero, shaped global narratives at Nature, New Scientist, and the BBC, led startup support and investments at Google, invested in and built carbon removal startups. Oh, and done the TED talk about carbon removal (haven't you seen it yet?).

As Carbon Finance Solutions Lead, you will be joining us at a period of step-change growth. Your focus: scale our flagship offtake financing product, which provides carbon removal companies with upfront capital against future credit deliveries. You'll originate new deals, drive deal development and guide our top customers from first contact through financial close. You will shape our strategy, while being the hands-on operator for innovative financing deals in a rapidly scaling market. This is a high-growth opportunity to accelerate market adoption for a true climate finance innovation.

You will:

• Originate new customers: Connect with leading carbon removal companies seeking upfront capital to build and scale projects. Build relationships, map markets, and bring exceptional customers into the CUR8 ecosystem.
• Qualify and structure deals: Assess project viability, delivery potential, and bankability. Help design tailored offtake financing structures with competitive terms and clear milestones.
• Deliver the deal lifecycle: Lead customer negotiations, work with banks and capital partners, drive technical and financial due diligence, and manage deals from term sheet through delivery and repayment.
• Manage key stakeholders: Collaborate with CUR8's Science, Carbon Operations, and Product teams internally, and customers, funding partners, and buyers externally.
• Champion product growth: Channel market insights to evolve our offtake financing product, develop new features, and reinforce our position as a market leader in carbon removal financing.

Requirements

Essential:

• You've spent 5+ years commercialising financial products in startups, growth stage VC, or in banking.
• An understanding of how to structure financing deals
• Financial modelling skills

Desirable:

• You build trust fast, thrive in multi-stakeholder environments, and can communicate simply even about technical topics.
• You listen deeply to customers and excel by helping them solve their problems.
• You've led projects, know what it takes to deliver growth, and own business outcomes.
• You have a knack for detail, and your financial modelling skills are second only to an excel ninja.
• You love ambiguous, fast-growing spaces and relish becoming the go-to person on your subject matter.
• You work fluidly across teams and hold yourself (and the business) to the highest standards.
