About Us

My Legacy Tutors is a fast-growing online education provider offering mastery-based, tutor-led learning to KS2–A-Level students. We deliver exceptional English tuition through a structured, engaging approach guided by expert tutors and supported by intelligent, adaptive learning tools.

We are now looking for enthusiastic, high-achieving tutors to join our English team and support our GCSE learners through 1:1 and small-group sessions.

Role Summary

This role is perfect for high-achieving undergraduates, recent A-Level graduates, and current teachers who are passionate about English, enjoy helping students grow, and want flexible, meaningful work.

You will teach GCSE English Language and/or Literature using our structured teaching framework, helping students build confidence, deepen understanding, and achieve strong exam results.

Requirements (Essential)

To ensure high-quality teaching, you must have:

Academic Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 8 or 9 in GCSE English Language & English Literature
  • Completed A-Levels in an English-related subject (e.g., English Language, English Literature, English Combined) with a minimum grade A
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent grasp of spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and analytical writing

Character Requirements

  • Patient, reliable, and genuinely passionate about helping students succeed
  • Confident explaining ideas clearly to younger students
  • Organised and able to follow structured lesson plans
  • Comfortable teaching online (training and support provided)

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Experience tutoring GCSE students (informal or formal)
  • Experience leading younger students (mentoring, clubs, etc.)
  • Interest in teaching, education, or a future PGCE
  • Strong understanding of exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR)

What You'll Be Doing

  • Delivering engaging online English sessions (1:1 and small groups)
  • Teaching key GCSE English Language & Literature skills
  • Following our mastery-based learning structure
  • Providing constructive feedback that builds confidence
  • Guiding students through exam techniques and question practice
  • Keeping brief notes on student progress after lessons
