COAST-R Project Officer
We are seeking to appoint a project officer to support the interdisciplinary ESRC funded COAST-R project in the delivery of events, workshops and stakeholder interactions, and in the development of project outputs. The role is based in the Department of Geography and Planning and working closely with the wider project team that spans multiple institutions and partner organisations. The role is part time (21 hours per week) and is fixed term for up to 18 months.
COAST-R consists of a diverse team, including academics, UK marine, coastal and government agencies, industry partners, local authorities, voluntary sector and communities most affected by coastal change. Together, we are working to better understand coastal change and enhance the resilient management of UK coastal communities and seas, and the natural capital that sustains them.
You will work with Professors Neil Macdonald, Andy Plater and Dr Charlotte Lyddon and the wider COAST-R team in a supportive research culture in Liverpool. You will take the lead in supporting and organising the Year 3 COAST-R conference to be held in Liverpool in Summer 2026. In addition, you will help develop and support the project aims of COAST-R through local and regional workshops and events, data collation and analysis support and output development. Appropriate training and guidance will be provided for analytical methods and handling data types as needed.
This is a busy, varied, and important role requiring meticulous attention to detail and an ability to multi-task to ensure effectiveness in the achievement of tasks to the highest of standards. You will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and take pride in providing a service that exceeds expectations. Experience of using all data types and methods is not essential, and support/training will be provided for analysing each type of data or use of methods.
Commitment to Diversity
The University of Liverpool is committed to enhancing workforce diversity. We actively seek to attract, develop, and retain colleagues with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We welcome applications from all genders/gender identities, Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic backgrounds, individuals living with a disability, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
