Job title: Recycling Operative

Location: Grimsby, North-East Lincolnshire

Hours: 4 Day Week - 39 hours, Monday to Thursday (7am to 5.15pm)

Starting Salary: £29,852.16 per annum (£14.72 per hour) plus a monthly productivity bonus. Salary dependent on skills, knowledge and experience.

Based on the Europarc in Grimsby, Auto-Trail is around 30 minutes from Hull, Scunthorpe, Louth and Market Rasen.

The role

Our luxury motorhome manufacturing facility requires a wide variety of parts and services to ensure smooth and continuous production. The Purchase & Stores Department plays a vital role in supporting this process, providing the necessary materials and services to meet the business's operational needs.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we aim to minimize our environmental impact by reducing waste at source and promoting effective recycling across our site.

Working within the Stores Team, this hands-on role will focus on the efficient streaming, processing, recycling, and disposal of our clean waste products

Main duties - Your responsibilities may include:

  • Operation and preventative maintenance of waste process machinery & plant

  • Efficient collection, handling and processing of streamed waste materials

  • Removing nonvalue activity from the production line.

  • Liaison with external waste management contractors for collections / returns

  • Developing strong relationships with internal departments to ensure streaming compliance

  • Support continuous improvement work with external product supplier network to reduce waste at source

  • Provide 'best in class' customer service to production

  • Reporting and monitoring relevant KPI's for waste processes and procedures

  • Ensuring compliance to Health & Safety and Environmental requirements

As with all positions, due to the varying nature of our production & business, the responsibilities and tasks are not limited to this overview and may change to meet future demands. Any training requirements will be provided for the successful candidate.

Your Skills - Essential:

  • Counterbalance forklift licence.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to improve efficiency and meet operational targets.
  • Awareness of machine processing activities and associated safety risks.
  • Flexible, proactive, and hands-on approach to duties and teamwork.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, enthusiastic attitude.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or recycling environment.
