About the Role
Twenty Four Seven Nursing is recruiting Nursery Practitioners to work within an
NHS Day Nursery
in Steeton. This agency role involves working
Band 2 shifts
while supporting the delivery of high-quality childcare and early years education for children aged 0–4 years.
You will be part of a supportive NHS early years environment, helping to create a safe, caring and stimulating space that follows Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) standards and NHS values.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare & Learning
- Support children's physical, emotional, social and developmental needs.
- Assist in delivering age-appropriate learning experiences through play in line with EYFS guidance.
- Contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
- Support observations and developmental records when required.
Environment & Safety
- Maintain a clean, safe and stimulating environment in line with NHS policies.
- Follow health and safety standards including manual handling and infection prevention and control.
- Report accidents, incidents or equipment concerns to senior staff.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Communication & Teamwork
- Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents/carers.
- Adapt effectively to the routines of the NHS nursery environment.
- Promote equality, diversity and non-discriminatory practice.
- Follow all NHS policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements.
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Work within safeguarding policies to protect children and vulnerable individuals.
- Follow EYFS, Ofsted and NHS standards at all times.
- Complete all mandatory and statutory training relevant to the NHS nursery setting.
Requirements
Essential
- Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience working with children aged 0–48 months in an early years or nursery setting.
- Understanding of EYFS and basic Ofsted requirements.
- Ability to provide inclusive, age-appropriate learning opportunities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain hygiene, safety and safeguarding standards.
- Good literacy and numeracy.
- Flexibility to work NHS Band 2 shifts in Steeton.
- Commitment to confidentiality and professional practice.
Desirable
- Paediatric First Aid certificate.
- Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
- Safeguarding training.
- Experience working within NHS childcare or supporting Ofsted inspections.
- Experience mentoring students or junior staff.
