Project Xeno is a groundbreaking, immersive narrative experience currently in development at Maze Theory. Built for next-generation VR and MR platforms, the game fuses cinematic storytelling, innovative gameplay systems, and a deeply emotional sci-fi journey.

This is a flagship IP in collaboration with a major movie, and a rare opportunity to define the future of immersive storytelling.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years experience as a Senior Programmer (or equivalent).
  • Very good knowledge of appropriate programming languages and software engineering principles.
  • Practical Unreal 5 experience within a commercial game team and project essential
  • Very good knowledge of IDEs, debugging techniques and version control systems.
  • Very good problem solving abilities.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Can judge the complexity of tasks and provide consistently realistic estimates to support scheduling.
  • Can take direction and work both within a team and autonomously.
  • Good practical knowledge of at least one standalone VR hardware platform.
  • Must have a good understanding of how to correctly set up and use Unreal 5's build, cooking and light baking pipelines
  • Working knowledge of Unreal Game Sync and efficient distribution of engine and plugin updates to the team
  • Some physics experience would be beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of Studio wide development and adopt appropriate solutions to avoid duplication of effort.
  • Promote the team's work within the Studio.
  • Analyse, design, and document significant tools, systems and processes.
  • Implement required functionality to quality and on schedule with negligible senior intervention in an easily maintainable fashion.
  • Regularly communicate with colleagues, determining/relaying progress and escalating impediments.
  • Proactively participate in the mentoring of more junior colleagues
  • Promote and conform to Studio Group processes, practices and standards to improve quality, predictability and productivity.
  • Proactively support the development of external technologies by reporting issues.
  • Continue to develop knowledge of appropriate programming languages and software engineering principles.
  • Continue to develop knowledge of hardware platform(s).
  • Lead a small team to achieve short term goals.
  • Working with the lead to regularly monitor and check performance on various platforms
