Veterinary Receptionist

Rowe Veterinary Group are looking for a receptionist to join our busy and friendly practice in Yate. Rowe Vet Group are based in the South West with branches in Wotton, Brimsham, Thornbury, Winterbourne and a 24 hour hospital in Bradley Stoke. As a valued member of the reception team you will be the first point of contact for pets and their owners. This role requires you to have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle as you will be working across our different sites. Please be aware this is a fixed term contract lasting approximately 12 months.

Your duties

• Greet clients and their pets in a professional and courteous manner
• Book, cancel, and change appointments
• Handle queries promptly and professionally via phone, email, and face to face
• Advise clients on preventative healthcare products and promote Pet Healthcare Plans and pet insurance
• Dispense medications and prescriptions
• Take payments, cash up, and perform all other general admin and reception duties

More about you

In addition to a love of all animals, the ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, both face to face and on the phone, proficient knowledge of IT, the ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment and to remain calm when dealing with emergencies.

• Minimum of 1 year office-based experience
• Good level of education (minimum 5 GCSEs Grade C or above)
• Reliable with excellent time management skills
• Professional and caring telephone manner
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Good working knowledge of MS Office
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• High attention to detail

Your shift pattern

Monday OFF

Tuesday 1:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Wednesday 1:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Thursday OFF

Friday 1 pm - 7 pm

Sat or Sunday a 1:4 8 hour shifts (day and shift time to be confirmed at interview)
