Responsibilities
- Assisting with daily living activities: Helping patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Promoting emotional well-being: Engaging patients in cognitive and social activities to stimulate their minds and maintain their spirits.
- Ensuring safety: Creating a safe and supportive environment, minimizing risks of injury.
- Providing companionship: Encouraging social interactions and communication, and supporting patients in their daily lives.
- Monitoring health: Recording changes in the patients mental and physical health, and administering medications as prescribed.
Required Skills include:
- Compassionate and patient demeanour
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of dementia and its effects on individuals
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and transferring patients
- Excellent observational skills to notice changes in behaviour or condition.
