Purpose of Role:

To provide high-quality, professional cleaning services across multiple client sites, ensuring that Excellence Cleaning's operational standards, customer service values, and health and safety procedures are consistently met. The role requires flexibility, independence, and a proactive approach to delivering excellence in every environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Duties

  • Carry out cleaning tasks across various commercial sites, ensuring all designated areas are cleaned to specification and schedule.
  • Provide Holiday , sickness and general absence cover across our client base.
  • Provide End of Tenancy Cleaning
  • Operate cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuums, buffers) safely and effectively.
  • From time to time there will be a requirement to assist with visiting contracts , provide training to ther staff and deliver stock and other consumables
  • Ensure cleaning materials and supplies are stored, transported, and used in accordance with COSHH regulations.
  • Perform periodic, deep, and specialist cleaning tasks as required.
  • Report any site issues, damages, or maintenance requirements promptly to their Line Manager..

Service Delivery

  • Maintain professional standards of conduct, appearance, and communication while representing the company at client premises.
  • Ensure completion of daily job sheets, timesheets, and digital task records where required.
  • Work collaboratively with the MD and Administrator to maintain consistency in quality and service delivery.

Health & Safety

  • Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies, including site-specific risk assessments and method statements.
  • Wear full company uniform and PPE at all times while on duty.
  • Report all accidents, near misses, or hazards immediately.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in commercial cleaning or facilities services.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (clean preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in work quality.
  • Flexible and reliable with the ability to work independently.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with floorcare equipment and cleaning machinery.
  • Understanding of COSHH and basic Health & Safety principles.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends when required.

Hours of Work:

This is a variable position, typically offering 20–30 hours per week, depending on client requirements. Start and finish times will vary between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., allowing flexibility to meet client schedules and site access times. Work patterns may change from week to week in line with client needs, and weekend work will only be required occasionally. This role suits individuals who take pride in their work and can adapt to a dynamic and customer-focused environment.

Location:

Field-based role covering multiple commercial sites across the York and Hull areas primarily.

Company Vehicle & Equipment:

A company vehicle, cleaning equipment, uniform, and mobile phone (where applicable) will be provided at a later date to be agreed. Initially we require the candidate to use their own vehicle for which the company will provide a fuel allowance .

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
