Job Summary:
As the Night Staff Team Leader, you will oversee the night-time care provision, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for the people we support. You will be responsible for supervising and supporting night staff, ensuring compliance with care standards, and responding effectively to emergencies. Your leadership will contribute to an effective and well-led service, ensuring we are responsive to the needs of the people we support and provide a caring service.
Key Responsibilities:
● Lead, supervise, and support the night care team to ensure high standards of safe and effective care.
● Conduct regular person-centred checks on those we support, ensuring their needs are met throughout the night in a responsive and caring manner.
● Assist people with personal care, medication administration, and mobility support, always prioritising their safety and well-being.
● Ensure accurate record-keeping, including care plans and incident reports, contributing to effective and well-led service delivery.
● Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies and incidents, demonstrating a responsive and caring approach.
● Conduct night-time risk assessments and maintain a safe environment for all the people we support and staff.
● Liaise with day staff and management to provide continuity of caring and effective care.
● Mentor and support team members, providing guidance and training where necessary, fostering a well-led and effective team.
● Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, health & safety policies, and safeguarding procedures, upholding safe and well-led practices.
Training and Development:
● Attend all mandatory training sessions and additional professional development opportunities to ensure effective and safe practice.
● Keep up to date with best practices in care, ensuring continuous improvement in service delivery, promoting effective and caring approaches.
● Support and encourage team members to engage in training and development activities, contributing to a well-led and effective team.
● Attend and engage in regular team leader meetings, fostering a well-led and responsive service.
Supervisions and Staff Support:
● Conduct regular supervisions and appraisals for night staff, providing feedback and identifying areas for improvement, ensuring effective and caring support.
● Support staff with their professional development and ensure they have the resources needed to perform their roles effectively, contributing to a well-led and effective team.
● Address any performance or conduct issues in line with company policies, maintaining a safe and well-led environment.
Individual Responsibilities
● Be required to attend some day-time face-to-face training sessions and keep up to date with meetings, ensuring continuous professional development and effective team collaboration.
Person Specification:
● Experience working in a care setting, ideally with adults with learning disabilities, demonstrating a caring and effective approach.
● Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a care environment, indicating a well-led capability.
● A compassionate and proactive approach to care, embodying the caring KLOE.
● Strong communication and organisational skills, essential for effective and responsive care.
● Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively, ensuring a safe and responsive environment.
● NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it) is desirable, contributing to effective practice.
● Knowledge of CQC regulations and safeguarding procedures, demonstrating commitment to safe and well-led care.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team, fostering an effective and responsive service.-
