Role Summary:

Secondary electrical design engineers for substations, to lead and deliver the secondary electrical system, protection, control, SCADA and system designs. Projects ranging across renewables, battery energy storage systems, transmission and distribution. This is a unique opportunity to work on delivering projects that enable clean energy. Package:

  • Salary - 45k-65k + car allowance
  • Working conditions - Hybrid (3 days in office)

Selected Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and propose concept and base designs based on tender information.
  • Design and review of auxiliary supply, protection and control documentation, schematic diagrams, battery and cable sizing, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, core sheets, etc..
  • Design of protection and control equipment settings.
  • Sizing of current and voltage transformers.
  • Actively drive safety by design and contribute to hazard review meetings.
  • Carry out site surveys and coordinate work with site teams as required.
  • Create design and equipment technical specifications.

Selected Key Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge of protection, control, SCADA, transformers, switchgear, batteries, cabling, earthing and lighting standards and regulations.
  • Experience in using CAD tools and working in BIM environment.
  • Experience in medium voltage and high voltage substation systems design.
  • Knowledge and experience of IEC61850 and its applications.
  • 5+ years experience in secondary substation design. 8+ years experience for Senior title. 12+ years experience for Principle title.
