Finance Assistant – Fixed Term (Up to 6 Months) | Multi-Academy Trust

Location: Swindon SN1

Salary: 26,403 Pro Rata

Contract: Fixed Term, up to 6 months

About the Role:

M&M Supply is recruiting on behalf of a Multi-Academy Trust for a Finance Assistant to join their Central Finance Team. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in financial administration, particularly in the education sector. You will help maintain accurate financial records, process payments and invoices, and support school budget management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices, receipts, payments, purchase orders, and BACS transactions.
  • Prepare payment requests and follow up on outstanding debt.
  • Support bank reconciliations, monthly, and annual financial tasks.
  • Maintain accurate filing systems and supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are correctly coded in line with Trust guidelines.
  • Produce budget and financial reports as required.

Skills & Experience:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Highly numerate, accurate, and detail-oriented.
  • Able to meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • AAT Level 2/3 or equivalent finance qualification.
  • Experience in school finance or multi-academy trust finance systems.
