The Role
Performs set-up and operates computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centres to manufacture metallic and/or non-metallic parts to very close tolerances under minimal supervision with keen attention to detail.
1 week rotation on shifts
Dayshift 07:00 - 15:00 (Mon-Fri)
Backshift 15:00 - 23:00 (Mon-Thu) 15:00 - 22:00 (Fri)
Nightshift 23:00 – 07:00 (Mon-Thur)
Key Responsibilities
· Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
· Interpret work instructions.
· Identify, select and set up tooling for operations being performed.
· Operate multiple machine tools and operations.
· Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections.
· Visually inspects final components.
· Uses precision measuring instruments & gauging devices and performs various quality inspection type procedures to include dimensional verification.
· Assumes responsibility for quality and functionality.
· Adhere to all policies and procedures.
· Maintain a team focused work environment.
· Responsible for general housekeeping and cleanliness of working area.
· Ability to work rotating Day/Back/Night shifts.
· Seek out and identify Continuous Improvement opportunities.
· Apply principles of Lean Manufacturing to reduced setup times and improve productivity.

· One or more manufacturing skills (CNC Turning, 3/4/5 Axis milling, Inspection, Bench, CMM)
· The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minimum Qualifications
· Be time served in a machining discipline
· Previous experience in similar industry is preferable (Aerospace)
· Experience working with CNC machines with various controls including Fanuc, Mazatrol & Heidenhain
· Must be self-motivated and possess facilitation skills to be used in a team setting.
· Prior experience with precision inspection equipment.
· Proven ability to hold tight machining tolerances.
