Position: Head of Finance

Location: South West England (hybrid)

Overview:

Our client is a leading industrial group with offices and staff worldwide. We are searching for a Head of Finance / CFO for a new Business start-up based in SW England. This is a newly created role to become a key member of the leadership team.

The role is hybrid and a large amount of flexibility for the right candidate but you have to be based in SW England (Cornwall, Devon, Dorset or Somerset) in order to be available for onsite meetings.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional CFO / Head of Finance to join a dynamic company in start-up phase and ready for massive growth

Responsibilities Include:

  • Reporting to the UK GM as well as Group CFO
  • Full responsibility and ownership of the P&L for the new business unit
  • Strong Finance leader to design, implement and drive finance for the UK industrial business during a period of start-up, funding rounds and rapid growth
  • Building and leading a world class Finance department including: Strategy, Controlling, FP&A, Funding, Reporting, Business Partnering, Audit, Compliance...
  • Working closely with the business and operations to really add value
  • Recruiting and leading the local finance team
  • Continuously enhancing all Finance / Control processes and procedures ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies

Candidate Requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent in finance / tax related field
  • Professional Accounting qualification – ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA…
  • At least 15 years of experience in Finance / Control and significant experience in leading finance departments
  • Prior experience in a start-up / funding environment and building the finance department - strategy, team, processes, systems...
  • Significant experience in an industrial environment
  • Business enabler – able to work closely with the business units and operations to add value to drive the business forward
  • Outstanding communication skills – positive influencing skills
  • Flexible and agile mentality
  • Able to travel as well as be onsite (hybrid) as the UK business grows
