HR Policy Advisor

Nottingham – Hybrid

Distinct are partnering with a strong, well-established organisation of circa 2,000 employees to recruit a
HR Policy Advisor
to join their HR Operations and Shared Service Centre team. The successful candidate will serve as the in-house
people policy expert
, supporting operational HR delivery, ensuring policy compliance and driving continuous improvement across the employee journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary policy advisor within HR Operations and Shared Service Centre, providing expert guidance on policies, practices and employment law.
  • Develop, review and update HR policies and procedures to ensure they remain aligned with best practice, current legislation and business objectives.
  • Support the implementation of policy changes across the employee lifecycle in collaboration with HR Operations, People Services, and HR Business Partnering.
  • Provide accurate, timely advice and guidance to managers and HR teams in UK Shared Service Centre settings, resolving complex queries and escalations.
  • Monitor and interpret legislative changes and ensure proactive communication/planning to reflect in policy updates.
  • Partner with HR operations leadership to ensure process, systems and policy alignment across all service-delivery channels.
  • Support training or communication initiatives to ensure that HR policies are understood and embedded throughout the business.

This role is a 12 month FTC position to cover a period of maternity leave.
