Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Server to join our dynamic team. The Head Server will play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences by overseeing the dining room operations and leading the service staff. This position requires a strong background in guest services, food preparation, and culinary knowledge, along with excellent time management skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering outstanding service and will thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the front-of-house team to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Provide exceptional guest services by anticipating needs and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure adherence to food safety standards.
  • Train and mentor new staff on restaurant procedures, menu items, and upselling techniques.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
  • Assist in managing reservations and seating arrangements to optimise guest flow.
  • Handle customer inquiries and feedback with professionalism and care.

Skills

  • Strong guest services skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Basic maths skills for handling bills and payments accurately.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary standards.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations to maintain hygiene in the restaurant.
  • Experience in upselling menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when needed.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment.
  • Familiarity with kitchen operations to facilitate smooth communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
