Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, efficient and motivated Cafe Assistant to join our welcoming team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining a clean environment and warm atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, tea, sandwiches, and snacks.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in all aspects of food preparation and service.
  • Serve customers with professionalism and friendliness, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Keep the café clean and tidy by sanitising work surfaces, clearing tables, and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately using our simple POS system.
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service.

Experience

  • Previous barista experience or familiarity with coffee preparation is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Experience in serving customers within a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards is preferred; training will be provided.
  • Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions and cash management.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when required.

Canditates must be available to work weekends and some week days.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £7.55-£12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
