The Role
As our Demand Planner, you'll play a vital role in balancing stock levels, ensuring product availability, and supporting our sales and operations teams through accurate forecasting. Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, you'll drive effective inventory management to maximise service levels while minimising excess stock and obsolescence.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and improve demand forecasts for all product categories using sales data, market trends, and promotional plans.
Collaborate with the purchasing, sales, and marketing teams to align forecasts with business objectives and supplier lead times.
Monitor inventory levels and recommend adjustments to optimise stock turnover.
Analyse variances between forecasted and actual demand; identify root causes and propose corrective actions.
Support new product introductions and end-of-life transitions to ensure smooth supply continuity.
Prepare regular demand planning reports and performance metrics for senior management.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management — ideally within electricals, consumer goods, or related distribution.
Strong analytical and numerical skills, with proficiency in Excel and demand planning tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Desirable:
Experience in the Major Domestic Appliance (MDA) or Electrical Distribution sector.
Familiarity with forecasting seasonal and promotional demand patterns.
