Uniserve are seeking a LCL Import Operator to be responsible for managing the import process of shipments that are consolidated in ocean containers with other cargo. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders such as freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of imported goods. The operator ensures compliance with import regulations and handles documentation and shipment tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage LCL ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery destination.
  • Liaise with shipping lines, consolidators, agents, customs brokers, and clients to schedule and track shipments.
  • Prepare and review import documentation including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Customs Entry forms.
  • Ensure timely customs clearance by collaborating with customs brokers and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
  • Monitor vessel schedules, shipment arrivals, and notify clients of shipment status and expected delivery dates.
  • Arrange inland transportation and warehouse handling for cargo after arrival at the port.
  • Handle billing and cost reconciliation related to import shipments.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation in company systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant import regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Resolve shipment issues such as delays, damages, or documentation discrepancies promptly.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance service efficiency.

Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in LCL Groupage freight forwarding.
  • Confident on the phone.
  • Good customer service.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Work well within a team.
