Join Us in Shaping the Future of Farming

At
Peacock Technology Ltd.
, we develop intelligent robotics and AI-powered vision systems that are transforming modern dairy farming. Our mission is simple but powerful:
to improve animal welfare and farm efficiency
through innovative automation.

From robotic udder hygiene systems to pioneering vision platforms, our technologies are already making a measurable difference on farms across the UK and beyond. As demand for our systems grows, so does our team—and we're looking for talented individuals who are excited to make a real-world impact.

The Role: CAD Engineer
We're seeking a
practical, detail-driven mechanical designer
to help lead the evolution of our next-generation robotic systems. You'll focus on designing the mechanical aspects of our products—ranging from end-effectors and actuator housings to control cabinet layouts—working closely with the Operations Manager, Technical Services, and field teams.

This is not a desk-only design role. You'll follow your designs from concept through prototyping, into production and real-world deployment—spending time on customer farms to see how our solutions perform under field conditions.

You'll contribute directly to the success of products like our
IDS Pre-Brush and Post-Spray robots
, helping to improve udder hygiene, milk quality, and animal wellbeing.

See The Tech In Action

What You'll Be Doing

  • Drive the mechanical design of robotic and automation systems
  • Create detailed CAD models and technical drawings for manufacturing
  • Work on everything from end-of-arm tooling to enclosures and brackets
  • Develop, test, and iterate on components for production release
  • Interpret feedback from customers and field engineers to refine designs
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure manufacturability and cost-efficiency
  • Support field commissioning, testing, and upgrades (UK and international)
  • Produce clear and concise documentation for internal and customer use

What We're Looking For
We value capability, curiosity, and a passion for engineering. If you love turning ideas into physical systems—and enjoy being close to the action—you'll thrive here.

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years' experience in mechanical design or a similar field
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical principles and engineering practices
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
  • Comfortable working hands-on with machinery, tools, and prototypes
  • Willingness to travel for on-site work and testing
  • Full UK driving licence and valid passport

Desirable

  • Experience using SolidWorks in a production environment
  • Experience working with robotic or automated systems
  • Understanding of pneumatic systems
  • Background in product validation, field testing, or commissioning

Personal Attributes That Help You Thrive

  • Engineer at heart – You love designing things that work reliably in the real world
  • Problem-solver – You enjoy finding creative, practical solutions
  • Team-minded – You work well with others and value cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • Customer-focused – You care about how your work impacts end users
  • Detail-oriented – You take pride in getting things right
  • Self-driven – You take ownership and keep projects moving forward

Why Join Peacock Technology?

  • Be part of a close-knit, expert team shaping the future of agri-tech
  • Work on systems that genuinely improve animal health and farm productivity
  • Combine hands-on engineering with advanced design and innovation
  • Flexible working and a supportive, open culture
  • Regular opportunities to visit farms, test in the field, and learn firsthand
  • Clear routes for professional growth as we expand
