Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled individual to set up, operate, and program a CNC milling machine, specifically a Bridgeport VMC with Heidenhain controls. The role also involves setting up and running surface and cylindrical grinding machines, with training provided. You will interpret engineering drawings and work within tight tolerances, conducting self-inspections to ensure quality standards are met consistently. The position requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team, and flexibility to adapt to different workstations and overtime as needed.
Working Hours: This is a day shift role, Monday through Friday, totaling 37 hours per week. Working hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (Monday to Thursday) and 8:00 am to 1:00 pm (Friday).
Compensation and Benefits: The role offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £19.50, with overtime paid at time and a half or double time. Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of CNC milling operations
- Proficiency with CAD software and SolidWorks for design purposes
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC)
- Familiarity with hand tools, materials handling, and tooling
- Basic mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations
- Experience with assembly and welding techniques is an advantage
- Prior warehouse experience is beneficial
