Reports to: Registered Manager

Job Summary:

An opportunity to join the team at Ermington House where you will play a crucial role in ensuring a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment for our residents and staff. Your work will directly impact the quality of care and life for our residents.

Hours per week:

We can offer from 12 to 30 hours per week which will be arranged via a rota. Shifts may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.

  • Sanitise high-touch surfaces including handrails, door handles, and communal areas.

  • Ensure bathrooms and toilets are clean and well-stocked with essential supplies.

  • Empty bins regularly and dispose of waste in accordance with facility guidelines.

  • Use cleaning products and equipment in a safe and effective manner.

  • Follow cleaning schedules and protocols as outlined by the Cleaning Supervisor or Care Home Manager.

  • Notify management of any maintenance or repair issues.

  • Adhere to infection control and health and safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Work effectively with other staff members to provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the care home.

  • Complete any additional cleaning tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a working in a care home is desirable

  • Previous experience in a cleaning role is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.

  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products and their appropriate uses.

  • A willingness to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
