Barking Riverside Explorers is a Preschool and part of SENspired Limited, a multi-award winning Education business founded in Barking Riverside and 2025 business of the year, awarded by Barking and Dagenham Chamber of Commerce. Explorers is focused on innovation and delivering highest quality education, with a curriculum designed to holistically develop the child towards school readiness, and a preventative SEN model to help avoid delays and push every child to achieve their own potential.

The preschool is in the second year of operation, expansion will be ongoing, and employees will all be accustomed to constant evolution and ongoing improvement of the school. There will be a lot of opportunity to develop, but communication will be key to ensure a successful and happy work environment for you and the growing team.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced room leader to teach and aid in running our vibrant education facility. You will be planning cirriculum, coaching staff, forging relationships with parents, ensuring strong development and behaviour management for children.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the staff within the room, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

• Curriculum Development: Design and implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum for children in line with educational standards.

• Staff Management: Recruit, train, and manage a team of qualified and dedicated childcare professionals.

• Parental Engagement: Establish effective communication channels with parents, keeping them informed about their child's development and overall well-being.

• Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a secure and healthy environment for children and staff.

• Continuous Improvement: Implement processes for continuous improvement, staying updated on best practices and educational trends in early childhood development.

• Ensuring a safe environment for children to learn in and upholding Barking Riverside Explorers' safeguarding principles and policy.

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years experience teaching within a childcare setting.

Relevant childcare qualification and knowledge of early childhood development principles.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external stakeholders.

Understanding of and commitment to compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
