Maintenance Technician

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The implementation and control of site TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) program in line with site schedule and/or manufacturers specifications. Drive continuous improvement in this discipline to reduce 'down time' and eliminate waste. Provide practical "hand on" fixes to machine breakdowns.

Improvement and maintenance of the factory facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

TPM for all Operations machinery, tools and fixtures with a particular focus on SMT and in line flow solder plant.

Use kaizen/RBS to plan, trial and implement practical improvement in processes.

Co-ordinate external vendor service contracts for machinery.

Provide daily "on call" cover for maintenance.

Liaise with production team as needed.

Support internal PPM root cause and counter measure programs.

Assist in site facility and utilities management.

Support QHSE endeavors

May be assigned additional projects and responsibilities at the sole discretion of the Line Manager

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Technical Skills/Knowledge

Ability to do practical problem solving on electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems. Using analytical or scientific methods.

Following written instructions to perform maintenance and repair requirements.

Maintain a tidy and efficient work environment.(5S)

Ability to respond to facility requirements, utilizing contractors as needed.

Manufacturing experience of electronic assembly including SMT desirable.

Intermediate Excel/Word/Powerpoint/e-mail skills

Understanding of solder application process (wave/flow/hand)

Practical awareness of Health & Safety & Environmental requirements.

Soft skills

Proactive, identify improvements, raise with the team.
