Enterprise Architect (Data-Focused) – Azure Platform | Financial Services | Greenfield

  • Salary: Up to £130,000

We're partnering with a progressive financial services firm to hire an Enterprise Architect who can lead a data-driven technology evolution.

This is a rare greenfield role where data architecture is the cornerstone of the future-state cloud ecosystem. You'll shape the enterprise data strategy, build out a modern Azure data platform, and set the standards that unlock analytics, AI/ML, and compliant innovation at scale.

If you're an established Enterprise Architect with deep roots in security, infrastructure, and applications and you're now majoring in Data Architecture, this is a chance to make a lasting, enterprise-wide impact.

What you'll do

  • Define the data strategy and multi-year roadmap, creating clear architectural guardrails for growth and efficiency.
  • Architect and deliver scalable Azure data foundations that maximise Microsoft platform investments.
  • Establish enterprise-wide data governance, quality, lineage, and information management frameworks.
  • Modernise data integration across legacy and cloud systems to eliminate silos and improve interoperability.
  • Design connectivity and service integration patterns that enable trusted, reusable data products.
  • Lead technical design reviews ensuring solutions meet security, regulatory, and quality standards—without slowing delivery.
  • Partner with executive stakeholders, translating architecture into commercial outcomes and measurable value.
  • Coach engineering teams on modern architecture practices and cloud paradigms.
  • Drive cloud cost optimisation and consumption governance.

What you'll bring

  • Significant Enterprise Architecture experience within regulated environments (financial services, professional services, compliance-led sectors).
  • Proven ownership of end-to-end Data Enterprise Architecture.
  • Data modelling → logical/physical design → integration/lineage → capability uplift → strategy/roadmap.
  • Expert-level Azure architecture experience across platform, infrastructure, and data services.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft data technologies: Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Fabric, Power BI, Data Factory (or equivalent).
  • Strong background in identity and security architecture including Entra ID and modern authentication frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success building data governance, quality, and integration models across complex estates.
  • Confidence influencing C-suite stakeholders and turning technical strategy into business value.
  • Solid understanding of compliance, operational risk, and regulatory obligations.
