Oriel Science

Oriel Science is an educational charity which engages the public with STEAMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths and Medicine).

They craft research and innovation, from universities and other organisations, into compelling, visceral exhibits and activities, and put these in places people go.
Their mission is to use the "wow" factor of this research to inspire and enhance the Future Generations' educational and career journeys, address under-representations, and enrich the general public's affinity with science and research.

Operations Manager

Salary: £26,038 (negotiable)
Hours: Full time
Location: a mixture of working-from-home and at Oriel Science
Contract: 6 months initially (continuation expected but dependent on funding)
Oriel Science are recruiting for an Operations manager.

Oriel Science operates in two modes: the "school workshop" mode where they run workshops for schools and other groups which are carefully designed to match the curriculum and the educational needs of our visitors. They also operate in "public mode" on the weekends and school holidays where members of the public interact with their exhibits and take part in activities which run in the venue.

About The Role
The Operations Manager role primarily involves overseeing the operations of the Oriel Science venue, both in public and school workshop mode. This will involve liaising with schools, rostering staff, communicating with exhibitors and working with other members of the Management Team and Trustees.

Oriel Science raise their funds via grants and so they are not able to offer a long-term contract. They plan to make an appointment initially for a six month duration, but fully expect this to roll forward as they receive further funding.
