We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Water Network Technician, working on the Southern Water network across Kent. This is a rare opportunity to enter a growing industry with excellent prospects for development.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Identify large night-time water users by surveying designated areas
  • Log water meters for high-usage customers to monitor and verify consumption data.
  • Locate and inspect water meters to ensure accurate readings and functionality.
  • Raise work orders for faulty or damaged water meters requiring replacement.
  • Conduct leak detection surveys to identify and report leaks within the network.
  • Investigate illegal water supplies and take appropriate action in line with company and regulatory standards.
  • Locate and survey fire mains
  • Liaise with customers to assist with investigations and provide clear communication during field activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to support leakage reduction initiatives and improve network efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of all field activities, findings, and actions taken.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Minimum GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science (A-level or higher is advantageous).
  • Willingness to work some night shifts.
  • A proactive attitude and commitment to completing the training program.

Location: Field-based across Kent.

Contract: Full-time, permanent after successful training.
