Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for food safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a busy catering environment, working alongside experienced chefs and kitchen staff.
Duties
- Assist with meal preparation and food assembly, ensuring dishes meet quality standards
- Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and basic culinary tasks
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing utensils and equipment
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Help with serving meals to customers or guests in a professional manner
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist with catering events and special functions as required
- Support the team in maintaining a tidy and efficient workspace
Skills
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant, or kitchen environments is desirable
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation processes
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude towards colleagues and customers
- Basic understanding of food presentation and serving etiquette
