The Finance function is based in Burton on Trent Head Office and is responsible for Pirelli UK Tyres Ltd and its subsidiaries. There are three undergraduate placements available in three different areas within the Finance department:

  • Treasury – Finance Assistant

The Treasury Assistant will support the Finance Department by managing online banking platforms in multiple currencies, processing and reconciling payments, investigating transactions, and ensuring accurate posting to the accounting system. Responsibilities also include overseeing the foreign currency platform and employee credit card programme, while working closely with both internal teams and external partners. This position provides the opportunity to develop essential business skills and gain valuable experience in the use of SAP, MS Office, and other financial systems.

  • Management Accounts – Management Accounts Assistant

This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the commercial reporting side of a busy finance function. It involves working collaboratively across teams and departments to provide key information that supports business decision-making. You'll gain a solid understanding of budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, and financial commentary, along with practical experience using core financial systems.

  • Purchase Ledger – Payments & Invoicing Assistant

Join our finance team and gain hands-on experience in the accounts payable function. In this role, you'll be responsible for matching and posting invoices / Credit notes, resolving queries relating to payments, invoices, and credit notes, as well as building strong relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers. You'll also develop valuable knowledge of invoice processing, payment runs, and reconciliation work, while sharpening your skills in a dynamic, fast-paced finance environment.

Our Requirements:

  • Studying towards an Accounting / Finance related degree
  • Good IT skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, which must include Excel
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Adaptable to change and a flexible approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Relevant work experience is advantageous but not essential
