This company are bringing their payroll operations back in-house after years of outsourcing. They're looking for a strategic and hands-on Payroll Manager to lead this transition and build a best-in-class payroll function from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of payroll at one of the UK's leading businesses. You'll be at the heart of a major operational shift, ensuring their people are paid accurately, on time, and with confidence.What You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading the transition of payroll services from their outsourced provider back in house
- Designing and implementing robust in-house payroll processes and systems
- Managing end-to-end payroll for a diverse workforce across multiple locations
- Ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations and industry standards
- Acting as the key liaison between HR, Finance, and external stakeholders
- Driving continuous improvement and automation in payroll operations
- Providing expert guidance and support on payroll queries and legislation
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience managing payroll operations, ideally within a complex firm
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and best practices
- Experience leading transitions or implementations of payroll systems
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with attention to detail
