Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team in the role of café cook. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in food preparation and kitchen operations within a dynamic and supportive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for meal preparation within our small café, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the overall efficiency of our kitchen services. A basic​ DBS will be required.

Duties

  • Assist in food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
  • Cook dishes according to specified recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Support meal preparation for service periods, ensuring timely delivery of dishes
  • Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to health and safety guidelines
  • Assist with serving customers when required, providing friendly and efficient service
  • Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Follow hygiene protocols diligently to uphold cleanliness standards

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food preparation or cooking is essential
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards are required
  • Experience working in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Friendly, reliable, and committed to delivering excellent customer service
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different roles within the kitchen team
