We're expanding our team and seeking a
Lab Analyst specialising in Chromatography
to support our growing laboratory services. This is a fantastic opportunity to work hands-on with advanced
Gas Chromatography (GC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), and spectrometry
techniques, contributing to the development and delivery of innovative diagnostic tests for gastrointestinal disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse diagnostic testing samples using GC, HPLC, and Infrared spectrometry.
  • Manufacture Hydrogen Methane Breath Test (HMBT) kits in accordance with ISO standards.
  • Perform data entry and electronic result input.
  • Monitor inventory of reagents and supplies.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
  • Review and approve diagnostic results and QA/QC data.
  • Maintain sterility and cleanliness in the lab.
  • Adhere to UK regulatory laboratory guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of new test methodologies.
  • Support ISO and UKAS accreditation efforts.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2:1 BSc in Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or a related Life Science field.
  • Practical experience operating Gas Chromatography (GC) systems in a commercial setting.
  • Experience in routine maintenance and troubleshooting of GC systems.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) systems.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of HPLC systems.
  • Understanding of spectrometry techniques (Infrared and GC-MS).

General Expectations

  • Willingness to follow all company policies and undertake mandatory training.
  • Ability to meet deadlines independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work occasional out-of-hours, travel within/outside the UK (expenses covered), and assist with ad-hoc duties.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
