Event Manager Independent Hotel Show Amsterdam

This is a rare opportunity for a commercially driven Event Manager to join us on a 6-month contract for the Independent Hotel Show Amsterdama highly focused business event dedicated to connecting and inspiring independently minded hoteliers across Europe. At Independent Hotel Show, we dont create run-of-the-mill trade shows we craft imaginative, design-led experiences that challenge the status quo and genuinely serve their communities. You will be fully immersed in the world of boutique and independently spirited hotels, developing deep industry knowledge and building meaningful relationships that shape the direction and success of the show. With the freedom to autonomously drive its strategic growth, youll deliver the commercial elements while curating an event that informs, delights and elevates the hotel community. ROLE PROFILE

• Full event management responsibility, strategy creation and execution, P&L delivery, budget and floorplan management.
• Commercial management key accounts, partners, stakeholders, trade associations as well as the ability to get involved in the development of the commercial plan and attend client meetings, with a key focus on sponsorship revenue.
• Day to day management of the event team, both direct reports and indirect management of centralised stakeholders (matrix management).
• Build, develop and grow key partnerships, both commercial and non-commercial which drive revenue and community engagement.
• Working closely with the marketing department to sign off strategic marketing plans.
• Working closely with content team to sign off content plan and execution.
• Managing and developing dedicated projects to drive visitor attendance.
• Developing a strategy for a comprehensive commercial campaign to achieve revenue and commercial goals.
• Attending industry events to build network of contacts and gain excellent understanding of the market.

COMPETENCIES

• 5+ years of event industry experience managing event sales/marketing campaigns or 2 years Event Manager experience (strategy, P&L, campaign execution, stakeholder management)
• 5+ years commercial experience
• Keen interest in the hospitality sector
• An innovator looking at the future, industry trends and visitor/exhibitor needs
• Outstanding motivational skills to develop team members
• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
• A confident communicator in all mediums written, face-to-face & telephone
• Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Ability to problem-solve under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances
• Strong negotiation skills and budget management expertise
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
• Dutch-speaking is a strong preference and will support relationship-building across the Benelux region
