growth, and we're looking for an experienced Machinery Workshop Stock Controller
to join our close-knit team.
We Seal are the largest international manufacturer of bag sealing solutions.
Established in 1979 and now supplying to 95% of the UK's bread market, We Seal
design and engineer innovative sealing machines along with reliable tapes and seals.
Purpose
To support the company's machine manufacturing activities across stores, stock control,
goods in quality and dispatch areas. The company also has a Warehouse, and the Machinery
Workshop Stores Controller is expected to support the Warehouse as well, 20%-50% of the
time based on the requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Unpacking received machine part deliveries, carrying out goods inspection, ensuring
correct part numbers, quantities and quality
• Contacting suppliers to resolve defective/incorrect part deliveries and delayed orders
to keep correct parts in stock
• Picking parts from the Warehouse and arranging dispatches for:
o The machinery workshop for the operators to build machines
o The spare part requirements of customers
o Service engineers
• Controlling stock using the MRP system (Sage), keeping the stock on the system
always accurate, identifying discrepancies and taking corrective actions
• Continuously monitoring stock levels, ordering parts from suppliers based on the
reorder levels and quantities, implementing stock replenishment practices (e.g.
Kanban) to ensure continuous supply for all demand
• Building strong and positive relationships with suppliers, colleagues and other
internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to resolve issues quickly
• Housekeeping of the Machinery Workshop
The role also requires supporting the tape Warehouse 20%-50% of the time (subject to
increase during holidays of personnel absence). These tasks will include:
• Goods dispatching or second-person checks to ensure correct material and quantity
• Stock counts
• Goods receipt checks
• Box/pallet handling, pallet truck operations
• Support floor cleaning as & when required, due to food manufacturing requirements
(BRCGS)
• Other tasks as required by the Warehouse Team Leader and Supply Chain Manager
that benefit a small business.
Education/Skills/Knowledge/Experience
Essential:
• Previous experience working in an engineering environment, ideally in a complex
machine assembly workshop dealing with engineering components and materials
• Experience in a fast-moving engineering or similar stores environment
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with a desire to learn
• Ability to work independently and monitor own workload, and as part of a Team
• Ability to diligently follow work procedures and practices
• Numerate and Literate to a good standard
• IT literate
Desirable:
• Reach and Counter Balance Fork Lift Truck Licence
• Be able to read engineering drawings (preferable but not essential)
