Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional culinary skills and a commitment to food safety. As the Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen, delivering high-quality dishes that exceed our guests' expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering and stock control.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency across all dishes.
  • Handle any issues that arise during service, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Skills

  • Proven supervising experience within a kitchen environment.
  • Strong background in food production and preparation techniques.
  • Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Previous experience in a Catering or Banqueting setting is essential.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a focus on maintaining high standards of food safety.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
